YouTube has Ruined Everything

As a designer, you're wrong. Just look at ApexPred's channel....moving along now.
Edit: You're that guy from Hupit who kissed a** to everyone and complained a lot. LOL

Well with the new layout everyone can. Just look at mine. You can have them in the banner and in the about section still. Just they are not directly in the art. It actually cleans it up a bit in my opinion :).
 
No matter the size of the canvas, creativity is within it's borders... Seriously though, the whole banner design adds a sense of professionalism to all channels and despite the size of the banner I have seen some very creative ways to show off personality within, a example is SSOHPKC's banner which dons more of a NES menu design, it offers the same amount of creativity required for the last design it is just up to us to make it our own... In fact the smaller size in my opinion forces us to utilize the space better and gets rid of people throwing random stuff in the background to make it seem less plain... However, this is just my opinion on the matter.
 
People will whine and b***h about the new layout, then they'll get used to it, and be fine until the next update. It's like this with every update. The simplistic design is actually really smart. It's one of the main reasons Facebook was so successful and MySpace bombed. What many fail to realize is you can be just as creative before, just in a smaller space.

YouTube knows what they're doing. They're not going to change it back.
 
The new layout is WAY easier to make a banner for (apart from getting all of the sizes right). But I do agree, it has taken all of the personality out of it! I think you should be able to choose whether you want the new layout of the old one!
