YouTube has changed

I don't think all people on YouTube are like that. Maybe some are, but at least in my niche it seems like everyone is really nice to one another. I have made a ton of friends from being on YouTube, but that may just be me.

My entire channel is focussed around helping others, just like many educational channels do that. I guess is you're watching the wrong channels. :)
 
There's always going to be people like that, but I don't think you can label the community in general as being 'selfish' and 'uh talkative'. I talk to tonnes of other channels like mine, and I think there's quite a friendly community in the realm of vlog style channels similar to my own.
 
I so get what you mean. Unfortunately, everybody is trying to scrabble to that little bit of stardom and everybody is kind of going in blinded by that without realising that teamwork helps getting there. I don't think some people are doing it for that fun anymore though.

Please don't tell me you're one of those people that messages someone with way more subscribers than you and ask them to check out your channel and give you feedback... I only have a bit over 1500 subs but I get messages like this at least once a week. I'm not your mother, dudes, watch your own damn videos and figure out what you can improve. :rolleyes:

I think people just look back on the past like it was better than it was. Something's will have changed but for the better in some cases
 
I think it is just the flooding of users and content out there. Back when youtube started it was much easier for your video to be found and to rack up subscribers. but now everybody is releasing content and there is a lot of quality stuff to compete with
