Youtube Dont's

you guys are probably right, I'm just having the opposite effect in my channel. maybe that is the norm.
Reaction videos and things of that sort usually rack in good views, but most people don't stay, they are good to boost views but not good for growth.

  1. Don't spend most of your video asking for subs and likes.
  2. Don't have an intro that's nearly as long as the content.
  3. Don't promote your video in other peoples' videos.
  4. Don't forget that big YouTubers are people, too.
  5. Don't forget that YouTubing is more than pointing a camera at yourself and just doing whatever.
  6. Don't act like anyone owes you anything.
  7. Don't stop just because it's hard.

Preach

Don't spam on other channels you will get major hate and possibly be reported.
Don't use copyright must if you plan on monetizing your videos
Don't film when you are not in the mood it will show on camera

thanks for the advice dino! although I was clearly joking but looking at your channel you have 420 subs but your average video has less than 200 views, some even less than 100, does that mean you're talking from experience?

View numbers on videos don't have anything to do with subscriber rate. I do subscribe to channels I like, or would like to check out more but I don't do sub for sub. I would look lousy by that analogy you have there. I have some videos that have very low views 100s, but I have 40,000 subs. I have a few videos that have over 200,000 views though, so those videos are where the majority of my subs come from.

ETA: When I make viedeos regularly I found for me and other similar crafting channels subscriber to views rate is about 10%
