Your most viral/popular video

A video is usually considered viral by the number of shares, not the number of views. If you look for the video with the greatest number of shares, is it still the same one? Our top shared video has half the number of views of our top viewed video.
In that case, my highest is 56, lol

It's not just shares though:

There have been the questions of "what exactly constitutes a viral video? How many views does it need to be considered 'viral'? How quickly does it have to rise in viewership?" There isn't exactly a set rule for how many "views" constitute a video "going viral". In a recent blog post, YouTube weblebrity Kevin Nalty, aka Nalts, asks the question “How many views do you need to be viral?” In 2011 he said, “A few years ago, a video could be considered “viral” if it hit a million views.” But Nalts updated that definition. He said, “A video, I submit, is “viral” if it gets more than 5 million views in a 3-7 day period.” [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viral_video#Number_of_views]

Now while technically my video doesn't meet the general requirements for being "viral" based on views, this video of mine, compared to all my others has been "viral" (for me anyway). Also when it comes to shares, I can't even see which of my videos has the most shares. YouTube Analytics organizes them by "Engagement" and only the top 10 (I wish I could sort by shares!). This particular video has the most engagement, but only 1 share.

My video titled "Doom 2 with Brutal Doom MAP08 (Brutal Doom 0.7)" (or something like that) seemed to break the 20k limit and I have no idea where the bulk of the views came from.

Our most Viral video is my (Jacob's) play of coffee simulator 2014 it got most of it's views within 2 days :D
now it sits at 610 views (not really viral status to be honest XD) but I'm happy non the less :)

Did you look at YouTube Analytics? It should give you some idea in the Traffic Sources report.

I usually go by what YouTube considers viral-and in their workshops, they primarily factor in the number of shares. Take most of pewdiepie's videos. His view count on a very large number of them would qualify under Nalt's definition of viral, yet most industry people don't consider those videos to be viral because they have a super low number of shares relative to the number of views of the video. Obviously it's much more difficult to track email shares compared with built in sharing component of YouTube, but it's very unlikely that someone will get a massive amount more shares via email/text than via social media.

It's a shame YouTube doesn't just give raw stats for shares. We have to use a 3rd party platform to see our sharing data.

I know, but this entire thread is basically asking what people feel is their most "viral" video (not what others might think is a viral video). Just sayin'

So, without actually posting the video itself (against forum rules), tell me what your most viral video has been. Here's the stats on mine. The drop in the end is because it's not a complete week (yet).

I consider this "viral" for me because most of my videos never crack 100 views. This particular one was one of my vlogs on being childfree. I've also gotten a lot of comments (over 130) on this video so far (the most comments I've ever gotten on any video).

So what are the stats for the video you consider your most viral?

I've never had a viral video. But my most popular was my tattoos and piercings video, I think it got to about 3k views, which was awesome as it was one of my first videos, I took it down in the end though as it got so much 'hate' and I couldn't be bothered to argue with the trolls anymore lol!!

Maybe you will know this. So this site has posted a few of my videos and I do see that I get a ton of embedded views from them. This video looks like it was shared 14623 times in the past 3 days on Facebook. I definitely do not see that many views on my video though. Does this look truly embedded? I'm wondering why only a fraction of the amount of shares shows up in my view stats. The highest number of embedded views comes from this site on my channel, but the numbers just don't match up. I guess I can't really complain though because for some reason their embeds have an extremely high CPM. That's the other thing I can't figure out...
