Your favorite video editing program?

I use both professionally, I know exactly what they do.

I think the confusion here is that "editor" is an ambiguous word. For many of us, an "editor" means a non-linear video editor. But for an FX designer, then certainly you might think of After Effects right off the bat. And for standard designers, your editor might be PS, or even InDesign (wince).

As far as your professionalism, I tend to question it. All you've exhibited thus far is professional hostility.

Wether you work in film and motion design, simple fact is that you are wrong. You can do green screen in Premiere and a bit more, but as you know, After Effects is from special fx. You can have your opinion, but we are also free to correct/input in it.
You can chroma key in After Effects as well. After effects is NOT just for special effects. You can't correct me when you aren't correct either

Well, I've been working on special effects and motion for about 5 years. After Effects is just as much as an editing program as Premiere. Both should be used in conjunction.

As for questioning my professionalism, feel free. I don't do youtube as a career or even a hobby. I use it to host my portfolio work for Behance.

You're absolutely right. It's not - but that is its primary function. The beauty of most software these days is its flexibility.

Now, let's take it down about several thousand notches and just enjoy editing, shall we?
Agreed. That's why I posted my opinion in response to the OP. I'd love to understand why this forum interjects when they are wrong. Not you, but Styxie.

Sigh, I was never saying you could not, I am saying you don't use After Effects for putting together your film, video etc. That is what you use Premiere for. As Gisikw said above, "editing" might mean different things for different people.
All I'm getting at is you most probably should edit (see put together, one clip next to another, etc) stuff in Premiere, and edit the title, special effects etc in AE.
No need to get your panties in a twist.

Styxie wasn't incorrect. He interpreted the OP as asking about a non-linear video editor. Strictly speaking, After Effects is not an NLE, even if it is capable of many of the same things.

Although I have final cut and after effects I usually don't need to edit my videos
But, I prefer final cut/IMovie because the ease of use.
