Um no. In the real world this means nothing. Even if you tell someone that 'your channel is bigger than Pewdiepie', your potential employer is just gonna stare at you as if you were some kind of idiot and ask 'who's Pewdiepie?'

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh no!

I don't post anything on my channel that could get me fired. I always think, "Is this inappropriate if my employer saw it?" before posting a video.

That being said, I would not outright tell them about my channel. Separation of church and state, you know?

As soon as they searched for my name they would find out about my channel so it would be important for me to mention it first. That being said, I doubt I will be looking for a job anytime soon.

Besides, it's been 25 years since I applied for a job and I had to do an internet search for 'CV' because I hadn't heard that term before LOL

So i decided to put a brief bullet about my video experience because that is part of the job I am applying to but I won't specifically mention YouTube.
Can you help me phrase it to sound fancy and professional?

" Experience creating video content and all aspects of video production including editing using professional video editing software"

Haha; I think people would shy away if they saw my channel. I do vids about being gothic, lolita fashion (the Japanese fashion; nothing bad), and anime. I do share it with my friends at work tho.

Ummmm... no, not my channel! hahaha.... which sucks because my minor was in video design / editing and the channel would be a really good example of what I'm capable of... luckily, the job I have now, I manage my companies social media and create all their online video as well... so I actually have professional examples of what I am capable of, haha...

As the title says, Would you mention your channel in a job interview? or CV?

Have you already done so? with good results? let's share our experiences.

I interviewed for a teaching job (it was way above my skill level but hey I thought why not try) and even though they diddn't consider me they specifically mentioned they liked my channel.

It was also super helpful for my college interview. after spending an hour or so showing the teacher my artwork, I showed him an old Youtube video and he told me "why diddn't you show me this earlier, you'd get on the course with this on it's own"

what is your own experience with this?
or is it sometimes better to keep our youtube identities away from jobs? maybe if you're a little wacky on your vids :D

i mentioned it in my interview simply cause they asked me for my intrests and hobbies...since film and video editing is a major thing i thought i would bring up youtubing and what not. i got the job and they seemed interested in the channel haha
