As the title says, Would you mention your channel in a job interview? or CV?

Have you already done so? with good results? let's share our experiences.

I interviewed for a teaching job (it was way above my skill level but hey I thought why not try) and even though they diddn't consider me they specifically mentioned they liked my channel.

It was also super helpful for my college interview. after spending an hour or so showing the teacher my artwork, I showed him an old Youtube video and he told me "why diddn't you show me this earlier, you'd get on the course with this on it's own"

what is your own experience with this?
or is it sometimes better to keep our youtube identities away from jobs? maybe if you're a little wacky on your vids :D

In my CV I have written that I have critical/creative writing knowledge, and amatorial videomaking skills, so when they ask me about it, I mention that. As far as I saw, they look at it as a hobby, so it does not influences negatively the interview.
EDIT: To be short, rather than mention it directly, mention the skills that can be developed in relation to it

That's a great way of making it sound more professional, as most employers definitely see youtube as something for pre-teens and hobbyists.

Yeah more like what @Conso1727 said, I don't actually put down my channel. I put film making down as a hobby. Unless of course I'm actually auditioning for for a show or applying for a drama course, then I go into a little more detail :)

Only mention what is relevant during a job interview. Unless you're applying for a job in the entertainment/music industry, or unless your channel is the same subject matter as the job/company, don't mention it. It only puts you at risk to be judged by your content.

depends on the job. I have actually mentioned my channel and stats as well as analytics experience before.[DOUBLEPOST=1431097247,1431097190][/DOUBLEPOST]

haha for most jobs I wouldn't want them to see me get stun gunned on the tongue or see some of my other weird stuff until I already had the job.
