Would you have started Youtube if...

I do all my own graphics!
Hypothetically, speaking there was absolutely no monetary gain in doing so? There are no viral videos, there are no talent discoveries on Youtube, and there is no TV show that you can go onto, haha. You get the point. Youtube is like some random site that people go onto and nothing else.

Be honest.

Hmm... that's a hard one. Honestly, I don't know whether this is good or bad, but I seem to have this bit of a need for attention. I do want to show what I'm capable of doing and if there's no one to show it to, that's kind of sad. It'd be awful if youtube was just a random site and people wouldn't get discovered. So I think my answer is gonna be no, I wouldn't have started.

I would defo still do youtube as when I started I genuinely had no idea that you could get paid from doing it. I just wanted to do something different from everyone else I know.

Well no, as I probably would not know if it. I don't generally stumble upon sites like some people do so I wouldn't have found YouTube. And if I did, then probably still no, forget monetary stuff, but if you can't make someone else happy or entertain them then there's not much point posting it. It's hard to imagine YouTube like that too. There'd be no next to no reason for capture cards for gaming and most people who do vlogs with cameras would probably barely use their cameras. It would actually be a different world o.o A bit off topic; to give you an idea of the lack of sites I find on the net, I only just made a reddit account, only heard of people visiting it in the past and I used to think it was a p**n site but only learned about 1-2 weeks ago that it's THE forum of the internet. lol I'm trying to imagine what I would think "YouTube" was if it was just a random site... Actually I'd probably still think it was a p**n site because of the word "Tube" don't ask me why :whistling2:

I started my YouTube channel because I want to. Not because I can earn from it. It was later when I learned about monetizing my vids.

I think I would be doing different things on YouTube, I started my channel because I enjoyed having a creative outlet, the money was a nice byproduct. I guess I would be doing less tutorials and more of my own compositions if there was no monetary side to things.
