Would you declare spamming as something 'completely wrong'

Personally, I don't like spamming. Whether it works or not notwithstanding, I simply find it to be rude behavior. But that's strictly my opinion.

When I was starting out, I would go to bigger YouTubers channels, watch their videos and try to write funny, entertaining or interesting comments that directly relate to the vid I had just watched. I didn't ask anybody to check out my channel, but I found that many people did. I experienced some really nice growth doing this, and it was fun, because I actually enjoyed the videos I was watching and commenting on.

i consider spamming massive advertising of one topic or brand its different than just asking a few people to check out your channel.

I don't like spamming but it's harder now than it was back in the days. I think everyone should do what they want, but support the consequences if they spam...

Spamming in the comments never even worked for me in the first place. I tried a couple times, and then felt silly after 5 minutes.
Although @Tarmack was making some pretty good points. I post my stuff on reddit. Sure I'll get upvotes as well as downvotes, but hey, it works :) It's also on the right sub-reddit.

You shouldn't resort to spamming to get noticed. It honestly isn't that hard.[DOUBLEPOST=1379104344,1379104095][/DOUBLEPOST]
Yes, I did do something similar on my Applause video. I said something like "I made a parody of this with my dog haha", and a lot of people ended checking it out. I didn't even intend for it to bring a lot of traffic or anything. It was just a simple comment :giggle:. I think as long as it's related, and you don't sound desperate, then it's okay. But as you said, it's still on thin ice.
I always post on related content like I already said and I think 'Tarmack' makes a very good argument[DOUBLEPOST=1379170412][/DOUBLEPOST]
I don't care about spamming i don't do it, but i don't mind it! You have to do what you have to, its not 2007 anymore. I mean people watch ads, and they watch when people do those campaign things in other videos, and no one calls advertisers or big YouTube spammers. So why call the little people spammers? When its smaller channels it may be annoying to the channel owner because they probably can read all the comments, but lets say pewdiepie, he would never be able to read all the comments anyway so its not an inconvenience.
Exactly like I said, if I comment on ksi, a lot of his fans might see it but it is very unlikely he will see it as he has 10s of thousands of comment on most videos.... He hits the 301+ mark in like 2-5 mins....[DOUBLEPOST=1379170591][/DOUBLEPOST]
I put spamming on the same level of crimes like murder and child abuse.
because that makes sense.... you consider advertising yourself on a level with rape and murder, ok then :D

I wouldn't relly go to someone's chnnel and leave a comment there saying hey check out my channel or w.e. It doesn't sound too right, unless the comment you re making is related to the video. I guess it would be different to do that on a PM tho, just don't overdo it :P

Unless you mention that's its relevant or something, like what Kevin did, it's usually disrespectful to the content creator.

if it is a good video,i dont mind so much, but if it crap,i am rell annoyed,if it is a getrich quick scam ,then they should be flayed

I would consider it massively to disrespectful, and it just makes people really desperate. Growth requires patience in the end.
