Why Hate Video Editing?

Over time I've noticed many people saying they get fed up with the video editing process and that they wish they could edit themself, but in all honesty for me it's one of my favourite parts, especially when theres vfx :D I may be insane...

Am I the only one or are you with me here on the phsycho club? :P

My editing doesnt involve effects or anything and all it literally is, is sorting out audio levels and cutting down as much un needed content as possible.

It is no where near as fun as filming a video and actually having fun, its just a necessity to make the video actually look and flow well

Well my only edit so far was muting a video xD

I suppose the stuff you get up to on camera has to be the main event :P

My favorite part of any video creating process is always the editing! I might be crazy, but well, that is my opinion =)
Well, then again, my editing mostly consist of cutting and adjusting :)

editing is awesome especially when you see something that you didn't think would work come together so nicely..but then their are those times when things fall apart in while editing. i get why people would say that but there is nothing wrong with enjoying the process either!

I think people get fed up with video editing because it takes too long sometimes, but that probably depends on the length of the video, Brodie.

Editing is my passion and I enjoy it, but some days I just don't feel like editing. When I'm in the zone, I can cut a film like it was a knife through butter. Every clip matches, every audio fades in perfectly, I pick the right music without any effort. Everything flows together so fast and easy. The times I don't enjoy editing is when my cuts don't flow together, the music doesn't work, and you feel like you are lacking any sort of creativity. This is usually because I've already worked a day job, and trying to edit something on a weekday. My most creative days are when I'm rested.

You have to ask yourself what kind of content the people you are questioning are creating. Most of my films have over 200 files (footage, audio, effects, sound, music, etc) at the minimum, some of which have over 500. Do a few of those in a row and then let us know how you feel :)
