Why Gaming Content?

Personally, I just do it for fun. I also do vlogs and tutorials as well so I like having a variety of videos I post (on 3 separate channels).
 
Well a lot of people enjoy playing video games, so that has a lot to do with it. It's the same with every genre. Gaming is no different than vlogs, beauty, music, etc.
 
I do it cuz well...I like gaming...and have done it most of my life so you know why not.....been doing it for over a year....gotten nowhere, but atleast I have a got a friend who supports me ( for doing Youtube )....I could do other things.....but I don't have the money for gear and that.....and my brain likes to stop working when I try to think of new things. I just do it cuz it is fun and I like it. ( There is no jobs that I can get that is where I live....just if someone felt like saying, just get a job )
 
Because it's fun, and when I do a live-commentary and it gets no views whatsoever I don't really care, but when I work hard for weeks on one video and it gets no views it's pretty annoying.

That was okay in, probably 2008 or something, but now, with millions already doing that, originality and uniqueness in gaming channels has gone down in the dumps. That's why if you probably do something different rather than just record-and-post, you'll probably get more active followers and views.

i have to agree with that 100% i see so many of the same things over and over , im not saying my channel is like no other. im just saying gaming channels are over used ( no offence to anyone)
 
It is something I enjoy doing and I want to share my experiences with folks out there! So it is an easy fit for me. I feel like what i do is fairly unquie and I think I have found my niche. So, I think it is really just enjoying the game I am playing and once agian sharing that with the folks that drives me to do Lets Play commentary.
 
I always wonder "why gaming content?". Even with my interests not being towards that type of stuff, I don't see how your personality can shine through as much as a vlogger's might. Now with my view/opinion in mind - why would people want to watch someone else play a game? AVGN being the only exception, since he's not doing a let's play or something like that.

That's why some gaming channels won't get anywhere. I put a lot of time and effort into my stuff though. I mess with annotations, descriptions, tags, edit a lot of stuff, make sure all the audio and video is as good as it can get, it takes A LOT of work if you want to do it right.

I could spend days screwing with tags, descriptions, and all sorts of stuff trying to optimize everything and make it as professional as possible, but keep it entertaining. I even change my character per game so if it's a game thats complex I explain a lot more stuff, if I am playing a linear game I make it more funny. Either way entertainment is key.

I carry the game, it doesn't carry me.

Same here.

Even though I may not have the advanced equipment and speedy internet most others have, I still do my best to make my videos professional, entertaining, and watchable. I put as many annotations and tags as I can, and make the description as good as it can get.

As I said in an earlier post, I make Pokemon gaming videos because I enjoy it, and I do my best in things I enjoy doing.
