Why Don't More People Make YouTube Videos?

I've found that a surprisingly high amount of people get ridiculously nervous on camera and just hate it.[DOUBLEPOST=1365395090,1365395062][/DOUBLEPOST]
had to scrap a few vids with my friends cos of that lolz

Well, hate to say, I'm just the guy who get freak out in front of camera....[DOUBLEPOST=1366859859][/DOUBLEPOST]
So I know everyone HERE makes YouTube videos, but I'm sure you guys have experienced the same thing as me. I talk to my friends from back home about making videos and only like 5 people out of a whole town are even interested and ZERO of them actually do it.

Why do people not want to make YouTube videos? Are they worried about what people might say? Or about how they look? Or are they lazy? Or is it dislike for YouTube, do people not like YouTube? Or are they just not sure what to film? I really want to know, because it is SO easy to start doing stuff on YouTube and it can make money, so I don't see why everyone doesn't do it on the side.

(Suggestion to people who don't make video)
Even just at your job, make some videos after hours or on break or when you are bored, and make a channel based on the break time or after hours.
Or go on walks with your dog and talk about stuff you see or think.
Or get drunk and talk about history, or people you don't like.

Maybe that they just don't want to make video about their life.... I'm the guy who's afraid of making myself in front of camera or on stage, but I do create videos and love to play video editing program.
Probably different people think in different ways.

With all due respect, it is not easy. It takes effort.
A channel with the types of topics or content that you
mentioned is likely to have low subscriber count and take
a few months to a couple years to even get their first $100
check. Time is money and when it takes a lot of time for
very little money, it's not worth the effort.
