Why does Youtube have so much spam lately?

I'm just curious, I've seen more

comments and the occasional "does it come with a free virus?" ones for some reason.

Anyone else notice that? Wasn't this bad last year, I know that for sure.
 
Youtube has bots for almost everything and a majority really is spam on the comments section. The amount of times I've seen a movie trailer then the top comment was spam on how to see the movie online. Utter rubbish I tell you.

yeah, I know. and they're all thumbs upped by bots.

it's just so weird seeing SO much now.

I disabled the ability for viewers to thumb-up comments a couple months ago. I take my channel seriously and delete cussing and spam. When the thumbed-up spam started taking up too much of my time, I had to disallow the function.

Fortunately, I haven't experienced spam but it just seems to be everywhere. I will definitely consider doing that lol
