Why does it take so long to upload 10 minute videos?

I'm attempting to upload a video that is 9m57s long. How come when I upload a video that is about a minute long, it takes 1 to 2 minutes, but this 10 min video says its going to take 70 minutes? I would think it should only take 10 to 20 minutes, but wow...70 minutes? FYI my internet connection is very fast. 30 MBPS. File is 2.2 gigs
 
It mostly depends on your upload speed but sometimes there's problems with YouTube (maybe it's overcrowded?).
 
Yup. Sometimes my HD 3 minute videos take 2 hours so it depends on the length, quality and all that stuff and also, 2.2GB is a heck of a lot of memory! :eek:
 
Yeah you might have a super fast download speed but a really bad upload speed. Once uploaded a vid from my uni which has ridiculous speeds and it went in seconds so I'm fairly sure it must be your internet and not youtube.

I reckon your upload is being throttled by your isp, they tend to do that sort of thing. Also maybe check your file type, for example mp4's a smallish files while wav's are.... not

Google internet speed test, to see what your real up/down speeds are

Also can I add 70 minutes! Get on my level my home internet can take 12 hours to upload 15 min vids :p
