Why do you hide your subscribed to channels?

Because I don't want to advertise other people's channels. - Those avatars even have a "subscribe" button beneath them. The only subscribe button I want my viewers to click is the big red one top right ;)

Also, I think by displaying them, you are going to get sub4sub requests and spam from people with similar channels who get butthurt that you are subbed to "channel A" so why not me ?

Plus it's private information IMHO

I maintain a family-friendly environment since I'm talking about toys for ages 3+. I don't need somebody making some expose about some of the non-appropriate channels that I'm subscribed to.

I'm subscribed to a lot of...wierd channels. And a lot of channels in general. If people were shown every channel that I subscribe to...well, that would be interesting.
Also, when creating my channel, I noticed that most well known big youtubers hide their subscriptions, so I did the same to try to be "professional" and all.

Well, my answer is because I want viewers to stay at my channel for as long as possible.
As for why I hide my subs thing, it's only so that my channel looks more clean and such. I even got rid of the channel box thing, even though I'll bring it back only to put my other channels in it. It irks me when things don't look nice and pretty. >_>

It seems like it's more of a marketing advantage or thing, I can't believe I never even thought of it that way. I always suspected privacy but I had no idea what from or as Crown said the subs 4 sub issue is something I have thought about a lot. I'd imagine people like Pewd would get asked why he doesn't sub to channel a or b, c, etc... Thanks for the input & insight YTtalkers.
