Why do so many decent youtubers have so few views but still make many videos?

I was browsing the youtube gaming and I noticed there are lots of youtubers that have on average 2-3k views on videos added months ago and yer they make videos every day. How do they make money if they do not have views ?

They are decent youtbers and they even say hey put in hours of work in a video but I do not see the point here. Why are they still continuing ?
 
Youtubers earn abut 1 USD per 1,000 views plus advertising if they choose. As well they may enjoy it like I do, and I don't make any money as of now :)

So they make 1$ per 1 k view if they have youtube ads off ? Or are you talking about different kind of advertising, like more direct ones ?
 
Yeah bro most people dont do it for the views they do it cuz they love making videos like me for example i made my channel near the end of 2015 and i only had like 10 subs at least but even before i start getting alot of subs now i would still make videos and upload them online cuz i would really loved to do that for a living
 
I'm one of those people. We don't do it for money, we do it for people who like watching us. I've been told all the time that people enjoy watching my content. I'm happy to satisfy people rather its lots or not.

you don't understand, I'm a very small youtuber but I still upload everyday. Not because of earning a fanbase, because when I'm making videos I'm having fun
 
I feel if your in it for the money then no there is not a reason to keep doing it because it won't be worth it if you can't get popular but if your generally enjoy making videos and don't care about the money well then I would say the pure joy of making videos is what keeps them going.
