Why do so many decent youtubers have so few views but still make many videos?

If you start YouTube only to make money you should just quit now because you won't get anywhere at all with that kind of thinking. Use it as a platform to grow your creativity, to grow as a person, to get a following of loyal like-minded individuals and if at the very end you earn something then consider that as a nice bonus.

They don't do it for the numbers. Maybe they genuinely enjoy making videos

Ding ding ding! I consider myself a decent YouTuber. Most of my content gets 1-2K in the first month and then just gets a few views here and there. Been at it for 3+ years and still going strong. Although, admittedly, I have slowed down a bit since the beginning, due to not having enough time anymore. And then there is the simple fact that I don't feel the need to upload every week, sometimes I take a little hiatus to recharge. Everything I upload is stuff I want to film and upload. If I don't feel like it I am not slapping something on-line just to be active.

Some people just treat it like a religious hobby in terms of uploading most of the time no matter what amount of views they get

Well first 1k views is closer to $2 USD. And you also have to keep in mind that many big Youtubers have a lot of big videos that are being found in search daily. I have one video that's 1/3 of all my total views that gives me anywhere from 200-600 views daily, which is about $1 a day. Now imagine a big Youtuber with a lot of these videos. The best way to see how much a big youtuber makes is to check how many views they get daily on Social blade.

I am one of them :D I genuinely get them comments so much saying why you don't have more but in the near 3 years I have been making videos I enjoy it way too much :')

I was browsing the youtube gaming and I noticed there are lots of youtubers that have on average 2-3k views on videos added months ago and yer they make videos every day. How do they make money if they do not have views ?

They are decent youtbers and they even say hey put in hours of work in a video but I do not see the point here. Why are they still continuing ?
Maybe they love what their doing or want to keep grinding out videos to try and gain an audience. I know thats what i kind of do but not as often as daily

Same. I get lucky if my videos get 30 or so views, but as long as those 30 or so people keep coming back, who am I to let them down? No but seriously, I'm just having fun. And I guess I love reviewing things. I can't let certain games or movies go un-reviewed.

They make money based on their mothly views. May be they have just few hundred views on their new videos but may be at the same time they have some old videos which still generate many thousands of views per day. They upload new videos just to keep the game "running". :)

I don't think I will ever make enough money for making a living out of YouTube. I do it as a sheer hobby, and don't let the whole thing patronise me. The day I don't enjoy doing it anymore, will be the end of my YouTube journey. I think a lot of people are in the Youtube business for the same reason, sharing content because they like doing so.

It still amazes me how tied to numbers people are. People are drawn to creating things, and if there's a large audience or a small one (or none), that isn't going to stop the creative spark in many people.
