Why Do People Make Bad YouTube Channels?

I think you guys mis understand youtube. Not everyone has the ability to make their video better. They probably enjoy what they do anyway. Not everyone is as serious about youtube as us, everyone has a learning curve and if they actually wanted to become famous on youtube then they will step up their content if they want to, not because someone else demands it. Who are you to dictate the content quality of someone elses channel

I didn't really dictate their quality, I just don't quite understand why their videos are like that. That was the whole point of the thread, to help me understand why.

That's the thing I like in channels, the fact that they put effort into it makes it all the much better. Just because they didn't make it perfect doesn't mean they're bad, but at least they didn't just get on, start recording, and just talked for 10 minutes, am I right?
I'd agree

They do it because they enjoy doing it. Like i assume you enjoy doing videos i would assume. Maybe they don't like the whole editing process to make a video flashy

But why do they do it, is my question? I've seen a lot of people who want to get famous on YouTube, but they never make any attempts to become better and just expect it to come to them.

there so many of them and are usually kids that heard of kids making it big on youtube and making lots of cash. Some people don't relies that there content isn't that great, and other people think there so awesome that there video quality and audio quality don't matter

So because of tales of fortune and arrogance?

I've seen the same thing in stand-up comedy amongst the open-mike ranks.

The frustrating thing is not the bad quality, because hey, if people are having fun, enjoying themselves, and are purely doing it as a hobby, good for them! It's when they actively seek advice and are pursuing it with the explicit intent of doing so professionally, yet *still* never make a bonafide attempt to improve, that's when it becomes irksome.

My hypothesis has always been that these types of folks would rather blame externalities on their failures rather than "man up" and actually see that their lack of work ethic and/or talent is the real reason behind their continuing flatline.

Simply, a lot of people want to make it big on youtube, but they just don't want to put in the work. I know a few who make some pretty terrible videos, but they never try to make them any better, because they don't feel like putting in the effort. They half-a** it, and hope it will get them famous anyway.
I respect the people who at least try, even if their videos aren't the best.

the best way i can think of answering your question is, type in free video uploading on google. You get youtube so people will upload there cool new snowboard move and then copy the link and put it on facebook or email it to a bunch of friends rather than having to attach the video to the email or so they can share it with friends on other social networking site's, others treat youtube as a web diary to track vlog updates for future them to learn from, other's do it to help people, other's use it to voice there opinions. Basically youtube is is like the web and the earth, do some people not deserve to live? are we the one's to choose if they do? youtube has so many uses just use it as you see fit :D

That's not my question, though. I'm asking why people don't try to work hard on their content at all and just make low quality videos constantly for reasons such as getting famous.
