Why do people hate Youtubers for making money?

I think it happens because most people think that making quality/fun videos is too easy and that youtubers get money that they dont deserve. Because they dont have a real job from 9 to 5.

Because one thing is making money with the Youtube Partnership and one thing is asking people for money on Patreon.
It's also about how and when you present it.
I saw some b******t videos about the introduction of Patreon, Kickstarter, Youtubestarter etc etc.

I think a lot of the time its jealousy of someone who doesnt need to leave their home yet can make more than them where they have to get up and head out to work to an office which they dont particularly like or wherever. They see it not as a job but as a hobby and its as if they dont think those who do make money online are shifting their backsides enough for the money they earn.

In addition to that I think a lot of people as Markkaz said, expect the internet to be free of ads and free of ways to make money. If monetization was taken away from YouTube and most other websites including YTtalk they would fall flat on their faces and become obsolete very quickly especially as they grow.

I don't think anyone will argue that being a YouTuber is harder than having a 9-5 job, because the truth is it IS easier. It's something people do because they like it, so it's less work and more getting paid for what you like to do. I can definitely see why people get jealous. But it's so hard to get noticed and "make it big" on YouTube anyway so considering how much work these YouTubers did to make it into their career, it's totally fair that once they've put in all the work and built up their channel they should have a cushy job out of it.

A lot of jealousy could also come from putting in a lot of effort but not having the amount of success that the more prominent YouTubers enjoy. They can accuse the YouTuber of "selling out" all they want but in actuality, they would do exactly the same thing if they were in that position.

Part jealousy, part disagreeing with the system. When I first heard years back you could get paid for doing this I was like no way but it became a reality and a lot of people are unhappy about this mainly due to the fact of how it works.

Someone who has an office job to get up and 7AM to get a train at 7:30AM to be at work for 8:30AM then come home at 6PM and just about get enough money to eat for the week and pay his/her electricity bills just to make a living and sustain his/herself. Then they turn around and see people like us who can get up whenever we want, open a computer, play games, talk into a camera, go to bed and make more money than the office job could make in 2 weeks with overtime. I mean I can easily see why that would annoy someone it even annoys me. Then they announce shirt selling, sponsorship deals, how their going on vacation bought a new car while I'm here eat the other half of my canned soup with 2 slices of bread about to go to bed to get up at 7. I mean just thinking about it annoys me right now but thats how it works.

I don't hate people or larger YouTubers who make money, as long as they don't flaunt it, constantly mention it or show off at the fact they have all this money. That's what annoys me

I don't hate people making money, but some just don't deserve the amount of money they are earning now, like pewdiepie, he earns a couple of millions a year.. I think it's too much

This can be compared to all these hating fans in the music industry! A lot of people start to go against the band they used to love just because the sign a great record deal and have money now and a crew behind their album production! Sell Out is the most used term... gosh i hate that!
Well making money off of YouTube is not that old really but i can see how it changes^^
Now everyone can't live just off of YouTube (except the big ones maybe) everyone around Needs to look fro some other ways to get their fan base they have to buy something...
What i read a lot of people start to write books now, which is a bit surprising hahah

Same thing with running a website. If you ever sell a PDF, even if it's for like $2.99, some weirdos get enraged.
