Why bother hiding subscribers?

It makes me a little sad because I want to get to know my subscribers, and going to do that and seeing that I have gained one on private is just like "awe we could have been friends"

Because they want to feel better about themselves. They think a low subscriber count is synonym for "looser"

AKA, they are the kind of YouTubers that want 100k subs, 100milion views and thousands of dollars worth of revenue. A low subscriber count usually just means you are new to youtube, or just haven't ballooned up like others have. I am at 760+ subscribers now, but that took me a year and a half (coming up on 2). I've never once thought: Lets hide my subscriber count... All I think about on YouTube is: FUN!

We can tell based on view count though. i'm sure someone with 1000's of view doesn't only have 20 subs (unless they paid for them)

I find Youtube fun too. I think that is the best way to grow on Youtube.

Yeah, I find that most viral videos are with people who have a low subscriber count.

ecause they are ashamed or some dont like that people keep on stalking on their stats

I know someone who does it because he doesn't care about sub counts and just wants people to collab with him for him.
