Why are your Videos a certain length?

Our videos are little sporadic sadly due to events that happen within our gameplays, but we do our best to keep them 10-15min long. Certain videos seem to need content otherwise soon as it starts up, we have to cut it and start it all up again.

But we do Letsplays of games and try to give bit of info/entertainment on game... might be better to shorten them though based on everyones posts, still learning!
 
For me it's anywhere between 5 minutes to even 45 minutes with one of my longer episodes. In general though I aim to keep it below 20 - enough for people to get stuck into my content and get a taste of my personality/style whilst also being a reasonably concise amount of time for a gaming video.
 
usually end up around 2-4 minutes,but this latest one thats been taking forever and a day is oging to be a bit longer, maybe even up to 7 mins or so :O
 
Lately, since we've been uploading on a schedule and more consistently, we aim for shorter is better. Seems like we are somewhere in the 3-6 minute range. Our average watch time is much shorter than we'd like it to be! We are working on trying to get that longer! It's gotten somewhat better, but it's tough when we know kids are most of our audience! It's seems they want something quick and entertaining, similar to Instagram. If only we got as many subscribers as we fast as we get followers on Instagram! HAHA!
 
I don't aim for a certain time but usually it takes me 2-3 minutes to explain something in my tutorials. My main goal is to cut them down to the important stuff without all the chit chat you have in other howto videos.
 
I used to post videos of 1-3 minutes in length because that was what my audience retention was around and I tried to build it up over time. Right now the times just vary depending on what I'm filming.

Since I'm in the gaming realm and a smaller audience I DONT do lets plays reason being is 10-15 mins long..and without a "larger" this will more then like cause low view counts
 
I'm doing a Let's Play of a big RPG, so I think it needs longer episodes of around 18-22mins. This matches the timings of what most of my favourite channels are doing. I also did a Let's Play of a game recently, and coincidentally almost all the missions in-game were about 20mins long so it felt right to keep episodes the same length for continuity. I definitely don't think this is the best way to gain viewers / subs as the length is a bit too long for a new channel - but it's what I enjoy doing.

I am starting to produce some shorter vids, and will be aiming for around 4 to 8mins - but it will really depend on the series.
