Why are my subscribers not growing?

Improve content and join more social networking sites so that you can promote in other places, it would probably help to post more actively on YT and stuff too. Also interact with more people online, I suppose. Thats all I can think of really.

This is true. Although to be honest, I think you should just concentrate on your content for now as someone else had pointed out. I mean, if you're in the starting phase--which is sort of what 50subs is, you should be more open to trying out new things with your content. Who knows, you might be better with sketches than actual vlogs or review type videos, etc.

But at this point, personally, I'd just make whatever sort of video I want. I mean, I'm not out to please anyone or get subs. More or less, I'm just out to meet awesome people on YouTube. :) If you make friends and just do what you love, everything else (including subs) will follow.

i find that posting my videos as video responses to popular music videos helps get me subs.
Yup, video responses work too. :) Although, make sure it's an actual video response to another video rather than just responding with a random video from your channel.

My sub rate has decreased as well. Granted my channel is (most likely) younger than yours, I still feel you.

Concentrate on your content - if you're able to upload consistent high quality content then subscribers will find you without having to promote as much. It's much better to have a high video view count than subscriber count. I suggest working on your view count; that's what will drive up your subscribers at the same time. ;-)

This post was pretty encouraging. I've seen channels with 50+ subs and around 500 views. My channel's sub to view ratio is nowhere near close to that.

So, thank you, even though I'm not the OP. :)

What Jon said is true. Think about it as a funnel. The more people that see your views, the higher the chances that out of those many views, there will be a few that subscribe. :)
