Who has trouble getting people to comment?

I feel like people don't comment enough on videos, as though they don't realise that we aren't exactly professionals, we need feedback to make our channels better, and the comment (though they are better turned off if you are popular) section is the best source of channel improvement, and feedback. If only people actually commented on my videos regularly and told me what they thought of my vids :P

Something that might make you feel better: find a YouTuber you like a lot who is doing quite well for themselves and see what percentage of views resulted in comments. I just did a random video from Jenna Marbles: .21% Take the number of subscribers they have and do the same percentage... even lower. Now to be fair, there's a lot more going on with the top YouTubers, but some folks just don't comment. They may shy, not have anything to add to the conversation, or watching your video on their phone and not be able to comment. All types of possibilities.

That being said, I've read / heard where we are encouraged to have a "call to action" in our videos. Ask a question of the day, or ask what they would like to see next, etc... That might be something to consider too.

Yeah I wish I could get more people to comment on my stuff as well.... maybe one day!

I usually get a few comments on every video! I also engage as much as I can, asking my subscribers questions and what not. You want their help, invite them to comment!

Well, look at it this way. Do you comment on every single video you watch? Look at an average youtuber, and think: What would make them want to like or even share a video? What would make them want to comment on it? Were there any interesting moments in the video that were cool enough to comment about? Did you bring up any sweet topics to talk about? Usually the case is that they just don't comment all the time. It's not always on your mind to comment or like videos. People are generally on YouTube for entertainment, so they watch a video and move on after a few laughs. That's how it is for a lot of people, unfortunately. They don't realize how precious every comment and like is to a Youtuber, so it doesn't even cross their mind. Comments are something that you shouldn't really make expectations for, because it could end up disappointing you in the end. Post your videos, making good content, and if someone DOES in fact comment, then HELL YEAH! :D But otherwise, just let it be. Don't let it get you down. Just keep going. :)

You could always try different ways to get people to comment. Ask them questions in the video, bring up popular topics, throw in stuff that will make people WANT to comment! :D
