WHEN WILL ANNOTATIONS WORK ON IPADS, IPHONES, and TABLETS?

I Love YTtalk
You know as the days of laptops and desktops are being used less and less and more folks using ipads, and tablets...you would think that google/youtube would gear there focus on working towards fixing the annotation platform for such devices. Cross promotion and annotations are important. More important than constantly changing Channel layouts(especially this new layout that Youtube is gearing us towards. The new layout takes away an individuals personality of their channel).

How do feel about the annotations not being able to work on tablets, ipads, iphones and other smartphones?

Yes I too am not sure why they have not been added yet but I guess it also comes down to the hardware capabilities. I don't think iphones can even use this feature with the way videos are currently set up to run. (They use different formatting)

Interestingly enough they found a way to integrate ads into their formatting where it wasn't there when ipads first came out.
We'll see and hope to see them changing things soon.

I don't understand why they don't work on touch devices, but I guess they will get to it eventually. Who knows with YouTube.

Annotations work on my iPad when I'm viewing a video in Safari, but ironically, not in the official YouTube app. However, I know that it is a new feature (along with advertisements on mobile devices). I'm pretty sure they are working on it and know how important of a feature it is.

Wow Annotations don't seem to work on my ipad and I have both ipad 2 and ipad 4th generation. Hmm..... what's your secret?

Yeah, I have no idea. YouTube for mobile seems to have two players. One is like an HTML 5 YouTube player (and that one shows annotations), but the other one is just the default Apple Quicktime Player. I don't know how it decides which one plays the video, but when you watch a video on our channel, it always shows annotations (as seen in picture). Like I said, it's a pretty new feature and I'm sure they're still testing it and rolling it out slowly.

You can access annotations with your iPhone/Pad by clicking at the bottom of Safari and specify "DESKTOP" version instead of "MOBILE."
