When People Cheat Subscribers

I am annoyed because they will get certain features e.g. fan finder videos or brand deals e.g. on famebit for which I don't qualify yet. But I blame it more on the people just looking at the number as prerequisite for certain features than the channel content.
 
Tbh they may think doing one of these methods help them, but there are many problems that come with doing.
  1. No fan base just people subbing to their channel to put their number up by one
  2. Buying views you will never get pass 301 and if you do that for each video people will know you are trying to cheat the system and will avoid your channel.
  3. They may think it`s getting their channel higher in fact they are doing the opposite in terms of quality and reputation of their channel
I have seen and know people in the past trying to do this but they never win ever.
 
I have only been going just over a month and i only have 6 subs, im hoping this will increase when a new game comes out so that i can maybe have a chance of getting some decent views if i get the walkthrough / trophy guide out quickly whereas at the minute i'm posting vids that are already out there but just want to show people what they can expect from me.... anyway back to the question, i don't like the whole thing, even sub4sub, i want to earn my subs, not get them because i helped someone else out.

Had a comment yesterday from someone saying they subbed as they liked my video and would i check them out and sub back, i looked watched a vid or 2 and it wasn't for me. A day later and that guy has un-subbed.... but i though he liked my video?? hahaha :D :D
 
I don't think it really makes me angry, I just know that they aren't going to get what other people who honestly earn their subscribers get out of them. You can buy however many subs you want but in the end that isn't going to make people genuinely want to watch their videos. So, as cliche as it sounds they're only cheating themselves:P
 
Speaking of asking for sub 4 sub i got a comment on my recent video saying if i sub and like their latest video they will do the same for me AND give me a shoutout ! oooooo! hahaha no thanks! I watched their vids but wasn't too excited or enjoyed watching them otherwise i may have subbed.

At only 6 subs i need all the help and subs i can get but sub 4 sub is something i won't do.... unless of course i do actually like their content then i will hahaha
 
I don't care about it in general, I mean about people who do it, but I do see red when I get one of those comments asking me to Sub 4 Sub. One guy called me "Man", told me I deserve more recognition and then posted the same message on my friend's video who is also a girl. Now that angers me, and if they do it more than once I tell them to stop. It's more annoying than anything else. And yeah I agree that those people will never get true recognition and in the end their channel will be a joke, so that makes it better ^^

I feel like the younger youtubers are the main ones doing it and I've started to spot forum members who do it. I feel bad for thinking it as I've always believed you should never make assumptions on people, but sometimes, I just can't help it.

I think it makes a bad name for the rest of us small youtubers who do try hard and who are genuine. I say this a lot but as I've come to know the people on this forum there are so many hardworking and dedicated youtubers that deserve a break and there's others ruining it for the rest of us.

So what's your take on it?

I told a channel exactly what I thought on another forum; he was making videos about what he was doing! Then he was moaning on the forum about lack of activity and it being a waste of his time, faking it (buying subs and views)! Really? Who knew? :P

He shut his 2nd channel down shortly afterwards, only streaming on Twitch these days, apparently?

Someone did the same to me the other day. He said that he thought my videos were "great" and I should "keep it up" and that he had subscribed. Then he said that he wants me to visit his channel and apply for a shout out.

When I looked at his channel he had less subs than me, he probably has a lot more now but I'm not going to sub after such a fake comment. I could see his intentions from the get go and I'm not gonna subscribe to someone who clearly is only doing it to boost his own channel.

Yeah i think that's my way of thinking, it's really annoying! Especially as they say stuff like "great video" yet my analytics show that not much of the video has even been watched soooo how do you know if it's a great video??? hahaha
