When did you start promoting your channel?

I think I will start promoting heavily once I have about 10 videos, just cause I wanted a diverse portfolio of stuff
 
My older videos were more made for people that I know, so I would always share them on facebook. I guess I've been sharing from the beginning.

I have this problem as well. I want to promote my channel, but every time I force myself to tweet about a new video or post my new video to tumblr, I spend the next ten minutes thinking about how I feel like I'm ******* myself out to everyone. It's weird.
 
It was probably a month in before I started telling anyone about my channel. Its only recently where I have felt my content is good enough to promote more widely.
