When a Video Idea isn't Working...

What do you do? I have filmed this video and it's mostly edited at this point but I just don't like it. I don't like where I filmed it, I don't like how I went about the topic... but I don't know how to make it better. It's a video about a current event kind of thing that I am trying to explain my point of view on as a professional in the field. My last videos have been fun to film, edit, and post, and this one is just... meh. I like the subject matter, I am passionate about it, but am not happy with how it is coming out. The video is boring, plain and simple.

What do you do in this situation? Scrap it? Re-film? Push it aside for another time?

I'd usually scrap it, but keep it. Just in case one day you can take the parts of it you did like and use them in something else, or if you really hate it use it as a learning experience. Like, what to avoid doing next time.
I suppose it also depends on how much time you've put into it, but I like to avoid uploading things unless I'm 100% sure of them, otherwise I end up regretting it down the line!

I would scrap it and start again personally. We have tons of videos that never saw the light of day because they just didn't reach the mark we wanted!

i would never put my videos to the side for another day if i dont like it i will usually scrap it and refilm or just build an entire new idea altogether if you dont like your video how will someone else?

I tend to push it aside for another time.... which I probably shouldnt do because now I keep finding loads of videos of just random stuff that I can't be bothered to edit haha

Show it to someone you know and get some feedback. It might just be that you don't like it. It's hard to say how a video will do. I've seen utter crap get millions of views. What if this video is somehow, randomly, you're breakthrough one? Who even knows....?

I think it depends on how you view your channel. I've always seen mine as a collection of things I enjoy making and watching, and if people want to watch it they can. So I wouldn't upload anything that I didn't like.
But if you make content more for others than yourself I can see how "what other people think of it" can be something you base your uploads on.
