What's your veiw on people who monetize video's about tragedys ?

When I read the title of this thread (or topic, or whatever the hell it's called), I immediately thought of iJustine. Why do I think of her? She is well known for monetizing ALL of her videos, including the one where she talked about people in third world countries dying of Malaria. All that happened is that she got money from this, and instead of doing the right thing and donating it to a charity for this, it was speculated that she only used the revenue to get her new video games, computers, electronic gadgets. Seeing how it's iJustine, it isn't surprising.

If that doesn't express how I feel on people monetizing on tragedies, people like CraftNation became RICH off of his sheep of an audience.

I've only even seen one ijustine video and my only thoughts where 'she is a moron' then never went near another one of her videos again

Turns out she don't seem like that much of a nice person either

I'm pretty much on a grey area here, personally, I feel that they shouldn't monetize off of it, but if they decide to, then yes I believe they should have some decency to donate some to charity or help the families directly (if possible).

Yeah it is probably best to not focus on what others are doing, specially when it comes to creating youtube content, i just feel for the families and people effected who have to see this kinda thing happening and people just talking about it like its some general topic of the day. It just helps if people even just looked like they where a bit more empathetic to the cause.
I agree, people nowadays are lacking empathy and even though you may see people being empathetic (in person), they aren't TRULY sincere..
