Recently I've been coming across more Youtube videos about tragedies such as the Tornado in America and the Beheading in England. I think is fair to make videos about these things to bring up discussion and debate and just as general news but why monetize it ? Personally i think it takes a certain type of person to see these things happening and get a smile on their face whilst thinking 'Yeah i could get views on a video about this'

I know news channels on Television do this as well but they aren't using these tragedies in their title to get people to watch and get higher up the search rankings. Its despicable in my eyes and i think if you do make these videos firstly you should have the decency to at least link some charities to donate to for anyone who views it. Secondly you should not monetize these videos, but if you do all the money made should be directly sent to these charities.

Am i the only one who gets p****d off with these people ?

Well I don't get upset by it.. I mean when it is aired on the News People flock to watch it and the news makes money off of advertisements.. And Youtube put's ad's on pretty much everyone's video's these days, so you will never know if the person really montizied it or if Youtube is just making money off it. I have a few video's that I have never montizied and yet they have add's so don't jump to a conclusion and assume these people are trying to profit off it.

I don't feel like it should be the reason you make the video but if you take time out to notify people about a tragedy its basically like turning CNN MSNBC FOX they all have commercials playing and 95% of the news is about some type of tragedy..

Yeah ive stopped watching mainstream media for years, i think the majority of them are evil as well. There are channels out there who provide news into tragedies and bad things going on and do donate the majority if not all off the money made off views to charities that help the situation though. This is all really just my opinion though and personally id much rather watch someone whos making content about these things and is actually being an active participant in helping the situation to those who are just 'jumping on the bandwagon' if you like

If someone monetized videos and even donated say 25 percent to a charity and actually linked a charity in the description i would respect that channel so much more, they do research into the topic they are talking about it really isn't that much harder to do 2 minutes of research to let people know how they can help out as well and just add it in.

Honestly I don't care what other people do, but whenever I vlog about something tragic, I don't monetize. That's my personal choice.

Yeah it is probably best to not focus on what others are doing, specially when it comes to creating youtube content, i just feel for the families and people effected who have to see this kinda thing happening and people just talking about it like its some general topic of the day. It just helps if people even just looked like they where a bit more empathetic to the cause.
