What's your thoughts on a 20-30 minute video? (Update.. Video is live, has results)

It all depends on your content, your presentation style and your audience.
My #2 video with over 20 million views is 19 minutes. #6 is 27 minutes.

Out of my current ten ten videos based on monthly views, half of them are 16 minutes or longer.

Earlier this year, I had a video that was over 30 minutes and it has 210,000 views.
Last summer, I did a 39 minute video and it has 313,000 views.

Jeez Louise!! Well I'm optimistically shooting for 1000 on opening week and 3000 for the year
 
It really depends on the content you make though! Mine sometimes gone up to 20 minutes :confused:

Thanks. Your answer and all the others make me feel confident that this video will be watched and will be interesting to some people who take interest in the topic
 
Just an update. This video I was talking about is now online, it's my signature in case you're curious. I took people's advice here and it runs just a hair over 20 really trimmed it down, and if it was unedited, well, it might have been 45 minutes! Anyway the response has been 100% positive and with many people commenting about specific points in the video after the 10 minute mark, it lets me know that people stayed engaged (of course not everyone) and watched through all or most of it.

One person even said quote "this video should go viral" and said I rank up there with other channels who have 200,000 subs (I'm still a shrimpy 150, but that's ok) so that alone made it worth it for me.

I'm a bit burned out so I'll go back to 3 minute vids again but it's a crazy ride now
 
As time has gone on, I've come to like long videos more and more, especially if it's a video from a channel I really like: Funhaus, Scarce, boogie2988. It all depends on how loyal your fan base is. For example, Leafy's fan base have come to like videos longer than the typical upload.

Thanks. But I don't know what those channels are. With these videos I'm building a fan base so I guess a few should be longer.

It's just a lot of editing! Alot！！
 
As a final update to this thread, when I posted originally I said that I expected 1000 views in a week, but I fell a little short of that, 870. However this video got me 47 subs and 60 likes! So in the end I'd say giving a longer video once in a while, if it's well done, does pay off
