What's your thoughts on a 20-30 minute video? (Update.. Video is live, has results)

I'm not a fan of long videos at all. If it's a vlog, I typically try to keep my videos around 4-5 minutes. And every time I click on a video and see it's longer than that I groan and watch the video at 2x speed. If it's gameplay, it doesn't really matter to me how long it is but any video that's longer than 5 minutes I watch at 2x speed, or at least 1.5x. I just have a really short attention span and long videos do not go well with short attention spans :xdblush:

Thanks. I've thought about this too. I always try to keep it tight. No gaps and even pauses of breath I try to trim out much as I can so there's never a chance to drop someone's attention.

Haha same!!! And I try to talk as fast as possible (I'm already a pretty fast talker so it's not like I'm purposefully trying to talk super fast)
 
Short videos are the best.There are little group of people who will sit there and watch 1 video for 25-30 minutes,not because it isnt interesting but there are not a lot of people who have time to watch this long videos. Keep up the good work :D
 
A video that long, I have to have a real big want to watch it. Like, I like nerdy comic book stuff. So if I know it's like some comic book being read to me with really neat animations of the texts and panels, than sure! I'll watch it. But I have to have the time and willingness to sit down and watch a video like that so that makes a bit of a minority group.
 
I usually don't like making videos longer than 20mins because people really don't have that kind of time. As the previous people mentioned, educational videos/documentaries are the only things I'd really spend that amount of time watching. Bob Ross is also something I could watch hours of ;)

But from reading your comments, I'd watch 40min (you said 20-25min, but just sayin') of a history lesson if I could. I love learning, and learning takes time ^_^

But if you're doing like some sort of big film project, or documentary, educational, and things within that range, I bet you could market your video to that target audience.

Thanks. If you like games, you might like this one. Depends on what you like of course
 
If the subject matter warrants it, I'll watch the occasional long video. But it has to be only occasionally. If someone on my subscription list posts several long videos every week, I find it a real chore to sit through all of them.
