What was the beginning like for you?

Well my first video is probably going to be the worst out of all of them. The camera angle from my action camera on my paintball mad sucked. Plus it wasn't playing back sound. But I am experimenting and working to make better videos!

What was it like for you at the start of your channel?
Awesome! It was summer vacation and i recorded like 20-30 videos before i even made my channel! There were no thumbnails and i was boring as f*ck! But it was funny to make!
I've been doing it for about six month now. Really don't have any active subs, other than IRL friends... So yeah... But I love it and i have a lot of fun! So i will keep going!
Did you get discouraged at all?
Yeah all the time... I mean six month is a long time! Guess my videos just suck! But if i keep going and keep having so much fun, I think i'll get somewhere! someday...
Any tech issues you had?
Yep... Nothing was working! It was so hard! Microphone was s**t, recording f*****g up! Loosing sound! Still happens sometimes, but not as often!
Worries? Dreams? etc.
I have a lot of worries! because apperently i kinda suck, or i'm just not getting noticed!
I have a dream! About always having people to talk/write/socialise/whatever with on youtube comments, twitter or facebook! I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE FANBASE!
What was it like when you made your first video?
Fun! My first video is a really awkward mic check! My microphone was broken... But then it wasn't... And awkwardness just happened! But it was fun!

Think of starting out as planting some acorns. You're not going to get a tree overnight, some might not even grow, and animals may feed on you. But you just might get a mighty oak some day!

It was alright. I was only 12 so I was just happy that I managed to get them uploaded at all. I didn't really notice how awful the quality was or anything. We barely got any views (our 'game show' episode got like 67 views and I thought I was on top of the world). I got one comment and that was from my 6th grade teacher. :roflmao2: Good times.

I had a lot of things I wanted to do but never did (mainly recording in front of Madison Square Garden (or attempting to)) because me and my friends went our separate ways. I remember even way back then my parents offering the idea of my dad doing the show with me as a way to have back and forth. Even to this day I really want to do it because I think we'd make a good pair for a wrestling discussion show.

... I don't know, something just tells me that we'd click... As if we're family... :shifty2:

Overall that first time in the beginning, it was just really exciting. I didn't get discouraged at all.

I'd still consider myself at the beginning of this journey. Plenty of ups and downs along the road so far but I'm optimistic for what the future holds.

I was doing videos as a writer and actor with people like iJustine & Shane Dawson. Having no idea who they were or what YouTube was (as a community). Then became part of a channel called Totally Sketch and learned quickly what it was all about!

What was it like for you at the start of your channel?
Weird. I didn't know if it would work. If me, talking to a camera, would help me with my self-esteem and speaking abilities. I did youtube to help myself become a better person and to gain friends because I'm bad at making friends.
Did you get discouraged at all?
Hell yes. I didn't know if this was a good solution or way to help me deal with all of these problems in my life and in myself.
Any tech issues you had?
My laptop's editing software hates me. When I need to edit a scene into a video it gets deleted or it wouldn't open.
Worries? Dreams? etc.
This is gonna take long... might as well skip this for now.
What was it like when you made your first video?
Awkward. I sat there for two hours staring into a camera lens trying to come up with words to say. Needless to say, I had a lot of editing to do. But I eventually spoke up and gradually became comfortable talking to it. Next step... people. Real. Live. People.:help:

I started out doing call of duty montages but as I’ve moved on with YouTube I started playing Minecraft and commentating over my gameplays.

What was it like for you at the start of your channel:
Well I was nervous at first with this being a really different and complex type of gaming channel at the start compared to my old one.
Did you get discouraged at all:
Yeah, there were quite the number of times I felt I could do this channel well I had my doubts for sure.
Any tech issues you had?
Not really, I did a lot of research on best software to use the channel and watched a lot of YT tutorials to get me up to scratch and allow to practice on the new editing software I got.
What was it like when you made your first video?
When I first uploaded my first review video, I got some really nice feedback very fast I was so happy about that.

I planned my channel for a few weeks, doing research on banners and stuff and learning to use iMovie (upgraded to Premiere Pro later). I recorded four videos and uploaded them at once and have made a new video each week since then. Of the four first videos, three are now set to Private as they make me cringe. I had unrealistic expectations at the beginning, but once I figured out how YouTube growth typically works, I just kept focusing on making better and more authentic content and enjoying the ride. My channel is still very small but I have seen reasonably steady growth lately. My one worry--and it's huge--is running out of ideas. My brain is a pretty random place, so bright ideas just pop into my head, but at some point that may end.

Any musical theater buffs catch the quote? I didn't plan it--just happened.
