What other types of videos would gamers watch?

personally, I watch game videos for the commentator, because I like them.

and so, if they have other videos like vlogs or funny jokes about gaming (when you play GTA and die over something small/getting your sim stuck and dying of starvtion) is something I most definitely watch.

Ok good thanks for letting me know. Being liked, that's a real Rubik's cube to figure out!

I like people playing games in different ways than they are meant to be played eg: I wouldnt just want to watch somebody play fifa but i would want to watch somebody play a challenge on fifa or build a team using differant ways, for a good example check out AJ3 he has loads of series's my favourite being squadbuilder showdown!

Currently I only watch gaming videos mainly because I don't really know what else to look for that would interest me haha.
I only watch those who are honest to themselves and be themselves in the video, so long as they speak clearly and dont sound half asleep.
I also watch them for the comedy, people with different sense of humours and making fun of themselves or the game when they die or make a mistake, glitches etc.
Anything scripted tends to be a turn off for me and people who "try" to be funny as apposed to just being funny. Theres an honesty or truth about their videos which makes the comedy real and not pre-planned or just too kooky and over the top.

I love to see people make spoofs with the games sprites and characters, and create comedy skits out of them. Something I am planning to do when I have the time. With gaming skits I don't mind if they are scripted or improvised, it's more normal lets plays that I dislike being scripted.

I have no interest in reviews as it often tends to be the commentator rambling about something when all I want to watch is the game and see what it looks like.

I was born with the zx spectrum and master system so I do love retro games as much as new games. But it all comes down to YOU as a commentator and player, that makes me decide if I want to keep watching or not.

branching out I always think is fine. You can appeal to a broader audience. There will be peeps that prefer one over the other but also others that will watch one vid on a given topic and then realise you have videos on other topics of interest also causing them to watch more than just that original video.

This is some good advice. I'm sure lots only want to see games, it's true. What's with being funny? How do you make a game funny? It's something I can't grasp. Two red mages walk into a bar?? Haha I just plan to tell my own personal story of each game when the time comes

Mods are a big untapped market. Just make the mods you get work and work well. I also like seeing people bring in a friend or two. Funny moments videos are also good in terms of watchability and catching a viewer's interest,

Everyone needs to find their own brand of funny. I'm a firm believer that people should just be their selves and use improv skills to make jokes when they're available. Don't try to copy someone who's popular or try to play a character. Too difficult and usually you come off as phoney and annoying. Again, just be you! Most of my jokes end up being cringe humor but I think it's the enjoyable kind. So, yeah, telling personal stories is a great idea. Another thing you can do that viewers love would be make observations/theories about what is happening in the game you're playing. However, that may be difficult without practice as you may get distracted mid rant and then lose your train-of-thought and then the world explodes! Well ... not really that last part, but you get the picture. :D
