What microphone do you use?

I'm using a blue yeti, its works pretty good other then I need a pop filter.
If you're just recording small clips where you need the popfilter, then take a shirt, stretch it out with your hands and talk. Works really great. But wouldn't recommend doing it in longer paragaphs, since your arms will get tired :)

I use a Zoom H1 paired with an Audio-Technica ATR-3350 Lavalier Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone. It's great - though it records in single channel - which needs to be panned in post.

This is the kind of set up I'm looking at. Can I ask you a few questions?

I will be filming in outside locations, often noisy, and the main thing which I want to pick up is my own voice and that of someone relatively near to me. Would a Zoom H1 paired with a lavalier be good enough for this?

Also, does the quality of the voice recorder matter too much if you are using a lavalier with it anyway?

And finally, would you recommend a condenser over a dynamic lavalier?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

I use an SM57 and it's great! But I use it for recording my guitar amp... which I assume isn't what you are looking to do.

Just using my Corsair Vengeance 1500's mic ... pretty good actually . But I will probably upgrade in the near future :D

We use a bunch of different microphones for different instruments.
For vocals however we almost only use a "The T.Bone SC600" which I bought at Thomann.
It's not a exceptional microphone, but not bad at all. Very price worthy I would say, although I am looking to upgrade in a while.

I would recommend it if you don't want to invest to much at a start. I bought it as my first microphone a few years ago and haven't really felt the need to upgrade until now :)
