Samson Go Mic - When I was researching external microphones, it seemed to be the one that a lot of people were recommending for people who wanted good quality audio on a tight budget.
Audio-Technica ATR-3350 Lavalier Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone.
Will be buying a Rode VideoMic Pro for general filming soon, but tend to use the above mic for YouTube.
Your mic depends on the types of video you want to create.
Thanks for all the responses! Looks like the Blue Yeti is the popular option and not incredibly expensive.
I'm going to look into all the microphones that you've all suggested. I think I use a Turtle Beach X11 but I cant remember
I really wanted the RODE PODCASTER (full kit with mic, arm, pop filter) but I didn't have the £150 or whatever it is and the Blue Yeti was on sale for like £70.. so I bought the Yeti I don't really regret it but if any of my friends want to buy my Yeti I might go get the RODE
I use my Gaming headset. its a Geoteck pilot style PC headset so the mic is decent quality. unfortunately it can actually pic up the sound of my computer fans in the background
