What made you do Youtube?

1) I needed a hobby
2) It seemed like a great way to practice talking
3) It gave me a reason to play video games again (kinda got bored of them and had absolutely nothing to do besides going to college which is extremely boring)

In the last year, I became totally obsessed with watching YouTube. One day, I thought to myself "I can do that, and they are all having so much fun." Like others, I have a job that allows me plenty of time to work on videos. Once, I started (not even three months ago), I became hooked. Making videos, following people, and generally being part of the YT community is pure joy for me!

I love the idea of waking up in the morning knowing that my job is to come up with ways to bring laughter into the world. And until that becomes a reality, having a viewer tell me how much a video made their day brings me quite a bit of joy.

Basically it looked like a lot of fun, and when I voiced that opinion I had friends telling me I should go for it.
It's also an excuse to get some experience with filming, which is what I want to do as a career.

My friends from back then insisted it was because of iCarly that I wanted to make my channel, but that show legit had nothing to do with my decision. It just looked fun. We had the video camera and we weren't doing anything with it, plus we had that room in our apartment building so it was like, why not go in there and make some videos? This of course was in 2010 the first time around. We went from April to... Around July-ish. Not that long, but still.

I started after i saw another YouTuber with loads of videos but only 1 or 2 views each. I thought this looks like fun, i can do this and i wanted to see if i could get anywhere near the quality of all of the bigger channels...still trying but i'll get there (i hope)!

was wondering what made you do youtube?

ill go first.
ive had my youtube for YEARS now(middle school). when youtube started promoting me i was very excited. but i didnt follow through with it because i didnt think it was realistic.
so after so many years (now im 21) i rejoined youtube.

i had a steady job. a good paying job with benefits. my job was really chill, easy going job. but i hated the fact of WORKING FOR SOMEONE.
i wanted to build my OWN DREAM not build someone elses dream.
i was sick of being just a worker. i wanted to be SOMEBODY.
some people think it was a dumb choice to quit but i do have backup plans. (im not that dumb)
i did save money up to support myself for a good amount of time.

Youtube is a place where i can be MYSELF. youtube is where i can express my true feelings and my talents without being embarrassed. i love making people laugh and youtube is a place where i can do it. i love interacting with people with no boundaries. i c youtube as a family rather than just a video website. and i hope one day youtube will take me further.

so thats my rant / reason why i rejoined youtube.

Around the time it first started, its popularity made me join, the opportunity was to good to pass up.

I've been on YouTube for over 7 years now, I originally made videos on Habbo Hotel using Habbowood but after the big update it was gone, I made my own videos using wmm and put them on YouTube. I always enjoyed making films and animations and I'm glad I'm still doing that after almost 10 years and I'm studying it at college now so I'm glad that I never gave up.

What got me into Youtube was me just watching a lot of Youtubers just play games and it got me thinking of how wonderful it would be to just be able to record games, so I started getting into it and now I record gameplay and just enjoy it as one of my hobbies!
