What is a "good" audience retention rate?

What % do you think is a reasonable and "good" retention rate that we should aspire to consistently hit?

Mine is usually around 50's to 70%ish.... my longest video "The Break Up" has the lowest, which blows because that one is really funny, like one of my favorites...

But I've heard if you're doing around 50 percent, that's pretty good...

I use to put links to the end of my vids, so reaching 80% results quite difficult because of the relocation of the watcher :bookworm2:

I think that the "good audience retention rate" could be a 70% of the main part of our vid :geek2:

Mine has always been around 30%. The newer ones are usually ~50% but with every video combined, it averages at 30%.

It all depends on the type of videos you do. My newer videos are over 50% with a majority the the 60% range. A couple in the 70s and 80s. But, my two most popular videos have a retention of 37% and 18%. If you have long tutorials your percentage is probably going to suck, but it might be a necessary evil to put out good complete tutorial to make the video good. There is some trade offs you have to decide on.

I wouldn't get too caught up on this number. I would rather concentrate on the relative retention to see what parts people skipping or if people jumping ship early.

Mine is always around 50%, not sure if that's considered good or not but I'll take it!
I would take 50% anytime! My average is around 30% (which is too high for my performance, but oh well)

I think if you got 40+% you're doing very well... But this really depends, I tried to make my videos such that I would hit higher percentages. But that actually backfired me. My crappier videos scores higher rates for unknown reason. What is your average?

Like said above 50% is very good in my opinion :)

The longer the video, the lower the percentage.... just how it is generally... My one Vlog video that was just an update for the fans... it was just me, has an 88% retention rate... it's shorter, but I still tried to make it funny... and yeah I didn't really promote it so it has less views... but still made me wonder if I should try to keep the episodes under 5 minutes.... but it's hard to tell a story then for me, plus... the videos where I have options to click to other videos at the end have done well for me in the past, and those add time.... idk, The new YouTube cards aren't doing as great for me...
