What If YouTube Didn't Exist?

Could you imagine if YouTube wasn't around? How ordinary people are able to create extraordinary videos and upload them instantly for the whole world to see, but what if YouTube didn't exist. Do you guys think that other video services like Dailymotion, Vimeo etc would become #1?
 
I just think facebook would probably be the source if youtube wasnt around, or people would just stop making video ideas because there is no actual point without youtube haha :)
 
Well there would most likely be another company that would do videos etc like YouTube is doing if they didn't exist.
 
I think vimeo's been around for longer (?) so there would definitely still be online video, and sites like Funny or Die, but both of those skew a lot more to people already working in film and tv, so I guess video-making wouldn't be as accessible as youtube had made it?

That's what I was thinking.
 
There's absolutely no way people would just stop making videos. That's insane.

But yes like mentioned, either Vimeo or Dailymotion or some other video website would be on top instead, and probably in the same position YouTube is in right now.

I don't think that the other sites would get nearly as popular as youtube, but would get bigger. I also feel that I would be sad because it would be harder to find such cool people via internet.
 
If YouTube did not exist I would not be posting here... And that would be sad times, because there are a lot of cool folks on here. And fresh ideas. And yes, I do also stomp on people sometimes when they talk too much about subscribers and views instead of focusing on the one thing that matters. FUN!
