Yeah, iMovie is a pretty good bit of kit for the beginner. I've edited videos before (not for YouTube) so having the added functionalities of FCX in the newer releases really helped out.

Agreed - I personally thought iMovie was great! It just lacked a few of the more 'pro' tools that I wanted to use. Once they redesigned Final Cut Pro it was more of a natural progression and very easy to use considering I had mastered iMovie already.

Exactly! Still use iMovie every once in a while. Have it on my iPad these days, and it isn't half bad on that!

How does Premiere Pro handle? I've got an old copy lying about, but have never really sat down and used it.

It handles great, but if you need it for editing big and 6 or more video's with a length of 10 mins, you'll need a very good pc/mac
