What does Twitter/Facebook Have to do with Youtube?!

It is good to use Social Media to have outside methods to communicate with viewers.

I don't use Twitter very much but some people like for me to auto-post my videos there.

I use Instagram to share pics of cars and to promote some videos. This past week, have been making an effort to grow my followers. I went from 1,515 followers to 1,755. An increase in 240 in one week.

My Facebook page has gone from 800 to 920 as I have made some efforts to get people to LIKE that page. I'm not promoting it that much because Facebook doesn't exactly allow your messages to get to all of the people who like your page unless you pay them to promote your posts.

YouTube is not exactly know for being reliable. Having Facebook and twitter gives you other ways to let people know when you have uploaded new content seeing as YouTube does this thing where it refuses to out your videos in people's sub boxes.

Having alternate social media can only help you in the long run. Fans that are particular to different sites will find you if you promote, not necessarily agressively, on all of your platforms. It's definitely difficult to use all of these sites, but Facebook and Twitter are generally the most reliable, and most widely used. You never know who will find you on Facebook, and subscribe to you on YouTube because of that.

Can you explain how you promote your channel ?!

Ummm, it's not at all just a place to post updates and stay connected
They are tools to grow!

Look for a certain hash tag on twitter for example, that covers what you do. Hash tags often have some sort of "bot account" that re tweets everything that uses that hashtag. For example, #1GAM is almost always re tweeted by the 1 game a month account, a website for indie games.

When I upload a video, I send a tweet including that hashtag. It's re tweeted by the bot and anyone who follows that account sees my activity. Additionally, hashtags that aren't re tweeted can still bring views and even subs. If I said #gaming, people looking for tweets about gaming could see my stuff!

I've used this technique with #1GAM and other hashtags to get a LOT of exposure and feedback.

I've check #1GAM and it was for games not gameplays and btw do you have any recommendation for horror gameplay ?

Yes, if you checked the "Upload a Video" box, and have your Facebook or Twitter accounts connected, as soon as your video goes live, YouTube will auto-post to those accounts that you uploaded a video.

The usefulness of these social media sites also depend on how many friends/followers you have on said sites. For example, I have 3000 friends on Facebook (And most of them, I don't know that much). This becomes useful when I want to grow my audience by sending them private messages of my video links + a short description and a question. Thus, this is why I have to be careful with my videos in a sense that they can relate to it.

I have promoted a couple of my posts on facebook now. If you have 100's of facebook friends or followers, when you post something not everybody will see it. Only the people you have interacted with recently will see it - that is why it is important to constantly interact with people (like, comment their posts, send happy birthday messages and etc..).

You can pay money to promote your post so all of your friends/followers can see it or have a chance to see it if they are on Facebook in the time period that your posts is getting promoted.

HOW TO PROMOTE YOUR FACEBOOK POST -
Make a status update from your Facebook homepage or your page. After you hit the post button you will see on your post from your page like comment promote share. Click on the promote button. It costs 6.99 and you have to pay with debit/credit card. This will promote it so as soon as some one of your friends go to their Facebook homepage/ friends feed they will see your post at the very top!

WHEN TO PROMOTE ON FACEBOOK -
When you have a really important video that you think your family, friends, and fans really need to see.
When you hit a big milestone on youtube 10k subscribers etc.. Let all your friends know just how great you are doing on youtube! Some might not even know that you where doing youtube. They may subscribe, watch a lot of your videos, and become a regular fan of your channel!

I know #1GAM is for games, but the point is there's hash tags like that for most categories. I use that because I cover indie gaming. Indie developers and some indie gamers follow that hash tag.

For horror I'm not sure only because I haven't searched for one. I'd search on twitter horror game, or something like that. See if there's a trend in tweets with certain hash tags.

Best way I can explain it, hash tags are literally like video tags. It's a category people look for. If your video is about horror games and there's a hashtag #horrorgames then it will be found easier. Kind of making sense?

I have been using twitter for a really long time. Mainly just posting my videos but now that I actually have friends on there that use twitter I understand how it works more! I will start trying to use hashtags more. Good advice!

i don't use facebook much, so i only 26 friends i've already shared it to my school group and my previous school group i got nice feed back from my currect school group but none from previous school group!

I don't have money to promote my self. so i don't think thats possible and for the friends part read the previous Reply ^

So let me get this straight there is groups and these groups has unique Hashtag and if you right that hashtag in your tweet something they automatically share that tweet in their group ?
if so should i find group with alot of people that has similar interest and hashtag that or hashtag every group similar to my channel?
