Crap, forgot the why part. Fraps and Bandicam are dead simple to use. Fraps unfortunately doesn't record Windows Aero very well. Conversely Bandicam doesn't record game footage well, or at all I'm not sure. It's also nice to be able to control the window size in Bandicam. Adobe Premiere and Audition were packaged together and I learned how to use them in some classes I took a while back. Student discount also rules. Only negative to Audition IMO is that it's noise removal isn't very good but my mic resolves most of that problem (Shure SM7B).
