What do you do when editing?

I've been wondering what other people do when editing. I just made a checklist that I'm going to start using. What should I add in/ what do you do?
  • Edit out unnecessary pauses/breaths/mistakes
  • Brand video with logo or name
  • Put music that is royalty free in video
  • Turn down volume to said music
  • Put outro card in video
  • Edit in video over outro and my previous video

Woops didnt see this section thank you! I usually do my whole video in one shoot, then I just edit out all the crap that no one wants to see ... Like me coughing my brains out.
 
I usually import the video into the editor and watch the video from start to finish and mark parts that I was to cut out.
Seemed more efficient that way.
 
Well I think it depends on what type of videos you make =P We use After Effects, Cinema 4d, photoshop premiere and mixcraft to produce our videos.
It gets a little more complicated on our checklist xD
 
Depends on the video but usually i edit out most obnoxious deaths/mistakes, unnecessary pauses, add color correction, brand name.
 
I don't have a checklist for my videos.. but honestly if I was to make one it would look something like this.

>Check shots/footage
>import best/needed footage
>Create a draft edit
>show customer/client draft edit
>make any changes
>colour correct
>brand video
>send to customer/client
>archive all raw footage, including footage I didn't use.

(this isn't the checklist I would use for gaming videos obviously)

Exact same thing I do as well. Cheers :cool::p;):)
 
My work flow generally includes:

1. Importing all the files
2. Trimming all the content based on whether I might use it.
3. Create a voice over script.
4. Match content clips to the script.
5. Colour grading, branding, outro's.

Finally I'll render and upload :)
