What do people look for in a gaming channel?

Yeah I agree, I'm watching for the personality and if I learn something new about the game that's a bonus! I'm ADD too so I prefer my gaming videos not to reach over 5 mins, but if the people are crazy enough to keep my attention then I can watch for days. It sounds like you might like a gamer channel called pewdiepie, I don't know if you have herd of him or not but I really like him!
I laughed at his happy wheels montage video, other than that... I know very litte about him other than most everyone on this forum hates him lol

Originality is the number one I think, because any person can go on Steam for example, buy a game, play it and record it so that part of the video is essentially the some for every game video. Other than that the performance people give during the gameplay, let it be funny or serious, but no performance at all or boring people just cant seem to keep me interested in it. So I would say that generally speaking, if you get into some sort of character and you play the games you like to play, then people will adopt to you instead you trying to what people expect form you, altho it's not easy, but at the same time not impossible just look at Pewdiepie.

Oh no! I like pewdiepie and he seems like a genuinely nice guy. Oh well people are entitled to there opinions right? :)
Yeh I think he's a nice guy, after watching he cried because of a touchy part of The Walking Dead...

Btw, I think you should find something new in the content of the game you're playing (which is very hard :D) But good luck though!!

Yeah he seems nice :) and I will do my best!!

I think the gaming channel market is flooded with people trying to imitate other larger channels. I think being yourself, and doing your own thing is a good idea. I tend to sub people who have interesting things to talk about regardless of game they are playing.

As everyone else said funny commentary/scary games. I also think that interacting with your audience definitely shows you care and that's what makes people stick around(not just sub and run). Check out the theradbrad on youtube and you'll know what I'm talking about.

people look for a funny commentator that doesnt get to boring, if you get to boring a viewer will most likely stop watching, the most important part is keeping their attention, making compilations of funniest moments are a good way. if you think something stinks/sucks or isnt your best work, dont post it. do it over until its perfect to you. hope this helps
