What Background Is Best For Vlogging

Happy New Year
I have a notepad of ideas of vlog topics that I am going to talking about... The couple past vlog/talking type videos I have done they are usually in my room.. but my room is boring as s**t lol I don't have like a bunch of posters or anything.. I know a lot of popular vlog/ranting type channels have cool stuff in the background... I hear it's good to have a blank background and other times I hear you want to have a cool colorful.. with christmas lights type of background lol

Should I just buy like a giant cowboy studio brand Green or black screen setup and just keep a basic blank background or just clean my room instead lol maybe I am thinking to much about this.
 
Hey Man! It's your VLOG! How do you honestly feel and think about when you watch your videos? Is there an Image you wanna bring out to the audience?
If your fine doing your Vlogs as they are then keep doing so. If you want to go the white background route then that's fine if that's what you want too!

I personally think having a background personal to you and what you want your audiences perception of what your channel is about quite important.

White backgrounds give a clean professional image where you are the centre of the Audiences focus. Nothing else for them to look at but you.

Geeky collectable backgrounds like I'm using in some videos is very personal to me, every few weeks a few viewers will notice something else I've collected and will see a connection in my personality with the cool stuff I love around me.

Green Screen backgrounds which I also use are very versatile and handy in using special effects, putting what you like behind you, You can do so much messing around with them. But good lighting is the key to them so you will need to clutter your room with studio lights as well.

Your room, Is a very personal image that you are mainly a bedroom blogger and that's absolutely fine, some of the biggest bloggers on the planet are most comfortable shooting in their own room :)

Maybe get a bed sheet or something and hang it up behind out. Seems like it would be a cheaper alternative~

I have a good camera... 2 softbox lights in my closet.. now I just need a nice green screen or somthing....I pick a area that's not dirty behind me cause I'm lazy and don't wanna clean lol
 
For convenience I use a green screen, then it doesn't matter what sized room you are in because you can just blank it all out.

If you have one of those expensive cameras with really good depth of field I think an interesting room in soft focus behind you is also a good look (but heaps more expensive).

I got a green screen and 2 soft-box lights for $100aus from ebay.
 
As a viewer I like seeing tidy rooms with related background items (a good example is boogie2988) - this is great for showing you really are interested in what you're talking about and reinforces your message. Otherwise a neutral room, blank background or greenscreen but it really depends on what your channel's aim is.
 
Yeah use whatever you want - a color that displays your personality, or something like that. I was going to use a nice casual color that shows a casual personality. But really what you're doing is fine, unless you want to change it for you haha. Sounds like you're doing fine though :)
