What are my chances of doing Youtube Full-time???

"I'm looking to tell my present employer to GO TO HELL!"

That is not a good reason I think.

If you cannot deal with one (possibly bad) attitude person,
how you will deal with all those people that will follow you,
comment, critic, maybe disagree, dislike, unsubscribe etc?

Hint: Imagine what if Nerdwriter (for example) had your channel's description.
"I got tired of always getting a copyright strike whenever I wanted to review a movie."

...Well no-one would have known him today.....

:)

There is some great advice in the comments on this thread.

Going full time on YouTube is possible for anybody who puts their mind to it and with a certain amount of business acumen in my opinion, IF you don't just sit back and wait for the ad revenue to come in. @Loki Doki is a great example of this. His comment was very interesting and also showed how he used various methods to monetise his channel.

I took a quick look at your channel and, if you don't mind me being direct, your content is all over the place.

If you focus on one subject, or one niche, your subscribers and viewers will be people who are interested in that specific subject or niche. This will give you a client base that is relatively easy to sell to, because you know what they are interested in and what they want. If on the other hand some of your viewers come to your channel because they saw a video game review, some because they saw a skit, some because they were interested in some place you've been to...how are you going to know what to offer them for sale? Who would pay you on patreon to finance your channel if only one in five videos is of interest to them?

In all honesty, if you want to tell your boss to go to hell (something I guess we have all gone through), I recommend that you also look for other employment while at the same time growing your channel. It takes a very very long time to turn a YouTube channel into a business, so don't look at it as your only solution to getting out of your current employment.

I still think its very possible for anybody to do it. Most people here have Vlog / Travel / Gaming channels etc and if you are here I just think its going to be near impossible.
You just need to think outside of the box. Find a new niche. The biggest channels tend to be the most extreme / crazy within there niche. Are you?

I haven't checked your channel. My comments are about Youtube in general.

From a pure statistical perspective, the chances of any new YouTuber making it into a job are lower than not making it. I don't know if YTtalk is a representative sample of all YouTubers but here are my observations from being a member here since 2013 - I'd estimate that a maximum of about 5% of new YouTubers experience significant growth and traffic. 5% is probably generous. That's no more than 1 in 20. It's probably a maximum of 2% who actually make a living from it.

So, it's not impossible. It can be done but it's very competitive. If your goal is to leave a job you don't enjoy for something more fulfilling, YouTube is one way for sure, but there are also lots of other ways of working for yourself - blogging, internet marketing, affiliate marketing, ebay, ecommerce and many bricks and mortar businesses as well as day trading and other stuff.

Stick to what you know, i'd love to do a gaming channel but i'm no good at gaming as much as i enjoy it. i suck at Call Of Duty.

I wanted to do a theme park based channel but the content would be too far apart due to finances

Movies ended up being my thing, and now i do nothing but movie reviews and its been more successful.

You should do what you enjoy. You don't have to be good at video games. I think it's more enjoyable when everything goes wrong. There are tons of games to choose from. Maybe play less competitive games than COD.

I just watched some of your content, I thought it was great. I'm your 68th subscriber!

Your statistics of full time is almost zero, the YouTube gravy train left a long time ago and a lot of stupid crap has been going on on the platform for the past 3 or so years. Treat it as a hobby and IF you do monetize, treat whatever money you make as supplemental.
