WAY TOO MANY MINECRAFT LETS PLAYS.

All there seems to be in the gaming world is Fifa, Call Of Duty and Minecraft. I'm not a gaming Youtuber, but because of the likes of Pewdiepie, JackSepticEye, etc. it seems like everyone is trying to get big through gaming, but because of that, it's become a vicious circle where no one is getting where they want BECAUSE the market is so over-saturated.

As most of the people have said here, you should be able to make whatever you want to make and upload. With that being said, I agree that there's way too many Minecraft videos, muchless LP videos in general. I definitely with @natnip, though when it comes to the market being over-saturated. There's a lot of give and take when it comes to the pros and cons of LP videos, I will admit. Most LP's don't interest me, tbh, except for retro games. It's all a matter of what you enjoy making and watching.

Basically, that. She put it better than I did!

Please universe, stop doing minecraft lets plays.
Its like there is no creativity anymore, everyone just copies each other and does MC lets plays.
The fact they are doing lets plays like the other 95% of YT is beyond me.

I agree, there are way too many minecraft let's plays and i think a lot of it is down to minecraft being really popular among younger kids, and when they want to make a youtube channel these are the kind of videos they upload. They are very easy to make, and take no editing at all.

I'd just like to point out that this thread about the lack of creativity and bandwagon that occurs in the Minecraft LP crowd was created by someone who's forum avatar is #YOLO.

Yeah it is literally just drag into vegas/premiere. And render. No editing at all.[DOUBLEPOST=1445899201,1445899127][/DOUBLEPOST]

Because yolo is the mindset you should have for everything, even youtube. You only live once, you have one chance, have fun, why bother else?[DOUBLEPOST=1445899246][/DOUBLEPOST]
I don't think its the fact that they are so overdone, but the majority of people who make Minecraft LPs are very young, with bad video/audio quality, dubstep intros, little to no editing and constantly beg for people to subscribe to them.

Minecraft itself on the other hand is actually a good game - it's just that its 8-11 year old fanbase gives it a terrible light.
HAHA DUBSTEP INTRO MADE ME LULZ.

Well, the sad part is, it works. There are SO many people searching for Minecraft stuff that you just get organic viewership for making bare-minimum garbage if you tag your stuff correctly. That's why people do it, there's a HUGE audience for it. So while it might seem overdone to you (which I agree with, don't get me wrong) if you have a failing gaming channel and see that your Minecraft LP gets 10x the views of your other videos, you're going to keep churning that out because it simply works...

Honestly, I have watched some lets plays by some of the more known gamers, but I couldn't care less what most others come up with. Just like most people probably don't care about my MotoVlogs because I am a small fry (~1.9K vs ~500K for the biggest one now I believe). The key is, the uploader might be having the time of his/her life making those videos, just like me. And that's just fine. Just as long as they don't expect millions of views just because Pewds got them.

Everyone should make the videos they think are fun and play the games they like, but yes, Youtube is oversaturated with Minecraft, Garry's Mod, Call of Duty, and Fifa. While I'm not into those games in the first place, there's no way I'm ever going to check them out now.

Interestingly, there are still games that nobody or very few people have covered. The original Battlefield Bad Company has only two full playthroughs on Youtube, one in German and one in Italian. I'm baffled that nobody did a complete playthrough of that game in English to this day. I have the bunch of games on my channel where I'm the only one who did a Let's Play of them. They are not the most well-known or best games, but making unique content is still very possible despite the amount of gaming channels we have.
