Upload schedule's

So I've been thinking about it and having an upload schedule seems like a very helpful, and good idea. During my thought train though i realized a few problems that me and possibly other youtubers would come across, for instance. In my type of content it takes a good chunk of time to get all the footage needed for a video, and when i finally get it all and edit it and have it rendered and done i'm anxious to upload it right then and there. One more problem would be not having the content ready by the day you're suppose to upload (not that big of a problem for smaller youtubers considering you wont make to many people mad). The last problem being people wanting you to have more connection with your viewers. For example if you run a channel with a upload schedule and you strictly stick to it and people try and give you suggestions or feedback and get aggravated when you don't acknowledge them at all because you made that video 3 weeks ago because you are far ahead of the game with having content. Please comment if you have similar problems just thought i would give my opinion, I'm not saying its a bad idea but there are some cons and also pluses to it, thanks for reading.

We had all the same problems you're having and now we don't a schedule and its working better for us. It takes away the stress of deadlines and makes it more enjoyable. I think that having goals is better than a schedule to start with, for example a goal could be I wanna get one video out a week. Then up to it to two and so on. Once you're in that groove you can transition into a schedule easier since you've learnt and practiced your video making skills.

I used to have a schedule but the simple logic is that rushed content is never as good, even if it takes an extra day id rather make sure my content is as good as it can be

I do stick to a content and I do make videos in advance, basicly spending my weekend preparing three videos for the coming week.
The thing about people commenting and you then being far ahead is something I've thought of, but so far I haven't really gotten any comments ^^ I have considered just being honest about it, like "guys, my weekdays are super packed so I have to prepare three videos at a time during the weekend to be ready for uploading on tuesday, thursday and saturday" and hope people will be understanding...this is a hobby after all.

The only uploading schedule i have is to upload every week, because i know if i have specific days to upload there is a 90% chance I will not meet it.

I used to have a strict upload schedule and behind the scenes I still have one. No official word means less pressure though.

I upload once every week depending on what the audience is feeling or what is really trending on my channel I'll upload a cover or dance video.

I think an upload schedule is quite helpful. At first it's a bit hard to maintain, but once you get a streak, you have so much prssure from yourself to continue it that you'll work harder and not get distracted. It works for some people, doesn't work for others.

I keep to a fairly strict schedule of three days per week, and while it can get in the way in all the ways you mentioned, I think overall it's been very helpful to me and my subscribers. I know when to start filming, and when to start thinking about the next video, and my subscribers know when to expect more content, and what type.

Since, for most of us, YouTube is not a huge source of income (if any), I think whatever approach makes you happiest is what you should go with.
