I care about a person's personality first and foremost. I really don't give a s**t about the face a person was born with. What matters more is how they present themselves and the quality of the content they produce. I really think a large portion of YouTube has that same mentality.
That said, yeah the internet is freaking harsh. People will say stupid s**t when they know there aren't any consequences to themselves and its not in person. But you need to keep in mind that if you don't have a tough hide for these things, then you shouldn't be putting yourself in the limelight. Being a YouTuber is a sort of statement that you are trying to be a publicly recognized personality. Anyone who is in front of the public's eye will be both praised and attacked. You can find success either way, but you have to be ready to deal with negativity with a level head.
