Too ugly for Youtube?

I think as long as you are at least moderately attractive you will do well, people click on people they find attractive but that can't be the whole basis of your channel good looks can get you through the door but good content keeps them interested. If you are ugly then you had better be hilarious or serve some sort of niche market. I love ugly people by the way. I have ugly friends.
 
I don't think Youtube holds as high as standard as Television does, per say. But most of the top tier Youtubers are good looking. Smosh are quite good looking, Jenna Marbles is gorgous etc. To me...it doesn't matter what you look like as long as the content is good. I don't think it should be about looks at all...but alas, that just seems to be the way society is.
I have had someone tell me in a comment, that I should put on some make-up. Another guy said I was so ugly he needed therapy. With all that being said though..I've seen some pretty damn good looking guys that don't have near the subscribers that they should have lol :P I think it also depends on the category. Look at Vsauce and Vlogbrothers. Extremely interesting content...but they are not super models.

If you really think you are too ugly, or there is someone who is worried about their looks, just put on a paper bag over your head with various expressions drawn on, and brand yourself as "Paper Bag Studios"! or "Bag Head Productions"!
 
It really depends. There are some things that make me leave a person's video even though it's high quality. I don't really care about the looks. Maybe it's the vibe but I guess you cannot be too ugly for YouTube. That's just judgemental.
 
Well, I agree that Your look matters, for eg. I don't like watching really ugly people. But I know exceptions.
On polish YouTube there are YouTubers with high ammount of viewers, they make let's plays or vlogs, and they look really bad.
One girl from them have huge for polish girls obesity, and she have about 40k subs. But I doubt people watch her for content, her voice is bad and she is talking so useless things.
Two other guys just look really bad, one of them is vlogger and second is let's player but he record vlogs as well. They have about 200k subs each and they make interesting vids for people.

So its really hard to say. I think look is most important for girls, if they want to make vlogs. I think it's not that important for guys. You will get hated, but people will watch you.

I am hated for dreadlocks really often, even if I look good with them. But IMHO it's some special attribute witch give me a bit of uniqueness.
 
I personally don't mid how the person in the video looks, but other people sometimes do. In an irl video for a famous youtuber people gave someone a lot of hate because they were unattractive.
