Too shy to record my voice for my videos.....

one thing I have learnt since I started my channel is that you tend to think more about how you appear to others than anyone else done. Look at people that vlog in the street. I am a big fan of iJustine. Do you think she cares what people think as she walks down the street. She is a little wacky and not the sort of person you would miss if you saw her..

You seem to have a good fan base so think you should embrace the voice and let rip..

Best way to be and I agree with you, I use to have social anxiety but I have learnt not to give a flying duck if someone does not like me or if I do something that people don't like. Just like in my videos I act like myself as there is no point on putting up an act because the only person you are kidding is yourself. Just act normal and BE yourself! (I know it is hard if you have social anxiety problems, but you just have to learn in one way or another people don't give a poop.)

I don't like my recorded voice, it's sound very weird.. That's why I have been uploading videos without my voice but now my viewers keep asking me to share my voice description.. English is not my first language so, my accent is little different too. So, I'm really confused right not,I don't know what to do. What you guys suggest..?
I do quite a bit of audio engineering, so let me ask you what is the problem you have with your voice? Is it the tone of your voice, the volume of your voice, the narrow pitch range of your voice, or the ability of your voice to "break through" Many of these things can be fixed with audio engineering. To truly fix your voice though you simply have to be confident in yourself. Take pewdipie for example most of what he says in his videos is either complete nonsense, random noises, or stuff in another language, yet he has over 10 million subs...

Remember that EVERYONE has Ana accent to another person
I definitely have a strong accent to an american but not to somebody else from dublin
You should go for it :)

Better of saying oh well then what if

Here's the thing, I also was afraid of recording my own voice. And I know where you come from when you say your own voice sounds weird and maybe that is true (not trying to discourage you). So this is what you do. You have to practice your public speaking skills. Read out loud, practice a better tone with family members, speak with dominance and try to make an effort everyday. You never know when you will need your voice in front of a group of people so it is a huge plus to know how to project your voice and sound confident from as early as possible. People will respect you more, and I believe it'll get you what you want when you ask for it.

Talking from experience, I hated my own voice at first. My voice on recordings is a lot lower and lot less enthusiastic than it is in my head! Which is quite weird for me.

Just record your voice a few times, just talk while playing a game or something along those lines. And listen to it back a few times, and you should start to get used to it :)

In the end it'll just become the norm :)

I don't do voice overs because of the same reason I don't like my recorded voice, I don't know why and also I don't have a mic.

But I think I might have to and take the plunge, It might help my channel grow :wavespin:

Being a Youtuber is about learning to be confident in it. It is the same for everything. When I started I initially hated presentational speaking. I spent 23 years of my life drench in shyness and imprisoned in a lack of confidence until I started Youtube. If you watch my initial videos at the start and how I am now you will notice an insane boost in confidence and just overall comfort in what I am doing. You won't get it perfect first time and you won't achieve that feeling instantly but by chugging away and continuously working on what you hope to achieve you will.

The problem many Youtubers face with is that they aren't logical in how they improve. Just because you need to improve doesn't mean you have to do it when you are making videos that will be seen by people and ultimately let you be judged and summed up by them. Do it outside of making content too. Do it in the mirror, do it when playing games and not recording yourself. Do it when going for a walk and just talk about what is around you as if life is a video game.

The more you can improvise outside of Youtube the better you will actually be at doing Youtube stuff. This also means not trying to imitate the style of others but instead just being who you are and sticking to it. That means no silly voices, no screaming, no over the topness. Just be honest and open but with a pinch of enthusiasm.

Everyone at one point hates hearing their own voice on recordings! It is a bit weird because that is not how you perceived yourself to sound like, but it is you! You may think it sounds bad, but to others it just sounds normal - unless you try to do weird voices.

The only way to get better at speaking and commentary is to keep practicing. I always hated my voice and never talked much but I started youtube to practice speaking. Watching my first video, I sounded so nervous, didn't know what to say, and spoke really slow.

But 2 years of making videos, I got a lot better at speaking and doing commentary. I'm happy I started doing youtube commentary because it helped with my voice and confidence. When you keep recording your voice and listening to it, you understand your own voice better and learn how to improve it.

It won't be as bad as you think. I used to sound really weird and awkward but no one ever made fun of my voice.
